patchwork {redefined}

it’s another tuesday, meaning: one day closer to friday and of course new albums come out (new music tuesday). i tend to be a music binge junkie. i will listen to the same album/playlist/artist everyday for a week or two or three and then switch it up. you’d think with this approach i would have lyrics down…unfortunately that is not the case… at all, sigh.

well this evening i was listening to Ursa Major by Third Eye Blind. it instantly puts me back to seventh grade and Semi-Charmed Life and How’s it Gonna Be-not sure how I feel about that. MuteMath’s Armistice also came out and this just makes me sad… i already have tickets for their november show, but i’m not able to go anymore. i’ll be in australia.

well, tonight marks my first official post…so exciting! i have always wanted to do a blog like this, but didn’t want to appear vain and come across as “look at me,” but if “Curls” and i are able to inspire you to see the potential of your wardrobe and express yourself, then fabulous! mission accomplished!!

so today i wore a faux patchwork print skirt and it’s perfect for my first post. it represents how i dress…let me explain. patchwork is a combination of complimentary fabrics, arranged and assemble in such a way to create a masterpiece. in the process you may think “that’s going to look crazy and totally not work”, but it usually turns out swell. granted, i am not saying i create masterpieces, but a unique end result- guaranteed! Think holistically and see what happens…oh yeah and don’t over accessorize. that’s just gaudy!

i thrifted the skirt & locket and got the vintage flats (my summer fav) at a yard sale. the monogrammed ribbed tank is from spring break in college… all my bff’s and i all got matching tanks. this is a perfect example of my hording tendencies with clothes.
