oh how I love to mix patterns! Stripes and florals are my absolute favorite, it gives an outfit such character and personal touch!
I am madly inlove with the rose detail in this skirt around the waistline. It’s so elegant and sweet, and believe it or not, I found this treasure at Rugged Warehouse!! That place is certainly growing on me :)
and now for the tattoo talk.
I am seriously considering getting a bouquet of vintage flowers (roses quire possibly) on my upper, outer thigh. Here’s some lovely inspiration :)
 
I’m hoping I dont chicken out, but only time will tell. This could also be a monstrous tat, so the big bucks will have to be saved up to get a good one!

I love this sweater skirt. It is one of the only ones I own and I honestly dont wear it enough! I gotta get some more before this winter is over!! It’s the perfect weather to wear them too, when its super frigid paired with some sweater tights, these skirts are mega warm and cozy!
growing the hair out can be SO ANNOYING! I’m a person who LOVES change, and to have made the decisions to a)grow out my hair and b) keep it to my natural color (no hair dye involved) has been toturous, not to mention boring! I’m dying to do something drastic, maybe instead I’ll just get a tattoo. I’ve been thinking about it a lot! I’ll share some ideas and inspiration soonish!

Seasons Greetings! I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas & New Year! I have been home for the holidays and while home I have a tendency to stay in my pjs or sweats all day. It can be depressing, so going forward I will be getting dressed each day. haha- that’s kinda sad for a 25 year-old to be saying, but to quote Outkast, “I’m just being honest…”
Anyway, I rummaged through my sister’s closest for an outfit for a family Christmas. I chose a colorful skirt and accented it with the greys of the striped shirt, wool blazer and silk/lace belt. Yes, it may have been texture overload, but it was a fun outfit. I loved the lining of the blazer, so I rolled the sleeves and added to vintage earring on the lapel to substitute a broach. I wore patterned black tights, red flats and topped it off with a bow barrett.
I can’t tell you where anything is from, except the blazer. It’s J Crew.

Oh the beauty of going home… old clothes. I found a skirt… from 8th grade in my little sister’s closet. The whole front of the skirt is one giant pouch… pretty nifty.

Excuse the wrinkles please. haha. It was at the end of a long (but super fun) day with one of my BFFs in Indianapolis. Coming back to the states to face winter was quite the adjustment! All my clothes are in boxes in my brother’s basement… good thing I got a couple winter garments in Oz to hold me over as I transitioned.

It’s my first weekend back in Northern Virginia and I was suck in a snow storm!! Not quite the 95+ weather I was used to! I was quickly reminded that dressing for colder weather is harder. Well, not hard… there are just more layers and body parts to cover. haha. Well, legging are my new best friend because besides the one pair of jeans I brought to Oz (that no longer fit- I don’t want to talk about it. haha) my jeans are buried in a box somewhere. sigh. Oh well, such is life. At least I found my boots… and yes, the salt from the sidewalks really brings out the gold buckles… or not! Oh winter, I am not sure if I like you anymore.

oh how I love flannel, the more ragged and worn the better! Tis the season for flannel and I’m taking advatage of it as much as I can!
 In this outfit, I am wearing one of my favorite scarves, thriftes, along w/ my favorite flannel, thrited and a jean vest also thrifted. The belt worn at my waist is my favorite black braided belt (an outfit must for me), which is thrifted (shocker!) The striped tank is from H&M forever ago, the leggings from Walmart and the boots DSW. The bag is a new addition to my thrifred canvas bag collection and it’s my new favorite!

My dear friend and fellow blogger on Grace & Lace, Polish, went on a missions trip to Peru this past year and brought me home this SWEET headband. It is the best one I own, and I LOVE it. When I was sporting a fro for a hair style, this little guy just didn’t work right. But now that my hair is longer, it’s my favorite colorful accessorie!
the green sweater is thrifted from when I visited my sister in Texas, the lace top is from clearance at F21 (love it when that happens) leggings are from walmart or target and boots are DSW :)

Well, I didn’t post regularly, BUT I am soon headed off to the cold weather of winter in the states, so hopefully a better routine will be in place. haha. well, you may notice I have a little blonde in the hair… and more to be added. I was do for a change. I’m thinking of growin the hair out. We will see if I am patient enough for that. :)

This sweater is what I believe to be a fabulous thrift find :) I found it this summer actually at my favorite thrift store and have been DYING to wear it! I put it away so as not to tempt myself, and have finally pulled it out…so exciting :)
 The belt is also a thrifted favorite, the jeans are oldies but goodies, I believe from F21 and the boots are from DSW.
I LOVE stripes, and this winter season, I’m rackin’ up on stripped tops. This one I picked up at a thriftstore while shopping with my little sister Gaby…. she’s amazingly trendy cute :)
The scarf is thrifted (as well as the belt), and is one of my favorites this winter season. The bag is also thrifted I picked it up during my weekly thrift stops, it’s become my go – to bag now. It’s the perfect size, the colors go with nearly every outfit, and the strap is the perfect size to use across my chest like I have it in the photo. Love it when that happens!

I found this little number for $4. I love the embroidery at the top. It was a darling dress that I didn’t “need” but looks oh so cute.
 
Walked around chicago for over 4 hours, just sight seeing. It was so beautiful. Got to see amazing sites, one of them was this giant Mercury Ball. It gives off a perfect mirrored reflection, you can’t even tell in photos! We stayed taking photos for over an hour, we just couldn’t get enough!

 The sweater’s from Forever 21, so is the lace top underneath, the shades are thrifted as well as the scarf.

Ahh…. Dumpster Divin’. How I love thee. I found this tee on the side of the road. There was a community clean-up day and someone was clearing their closet. I found all kinds of goodies. yay! I LOVE birds (not real one though)… just in design. Sorry, I am not a huge animal lover. I like [BIG] dogs and that’s about it.
Anyway… has anyone found any great treasures on the side of the road lately?
Crazy, that it is already NOVEMBER!!!! Time is a flying!! Last night I put together an impromptu Halloween costume… I was Miss America. They don’t celebrate Halloween in Australia… well, it’s quite a evil holiday here and frowned upon. We had a little costume/dance party. No candy (lollies as they say here) consumption. I always loved getting Pay Days and flavored Tootsie Rolls. haha.
